Phone rings.
It’s a nice man from the Cleveland Clinic. I assume immediately that I am “patient zero” for something bad.
Nice man: “Hey John, you and Big Dreamers United took some photos of an awesome young lady who is kicking cancer to the curb and we are hoping to use a couple of the photos in a story we are doing about her.”
Of course you can use the photos, nice person at Cleveland Clinic. And even though violence is never the answer…way to punch cancer right out of the ring, Lucy. #exceptionrule
Lucy and her family are amazing and you can watch their story here:

To help the fight against childhood cancer, please feel free to donate to a nonprofit co-founded by Lucy’s mom – Little Warrior Foundation

Remember when we had meetings in coffee shops? And we hated all the meetings we HAD to go to? And now we can’t wait for the day when we schedule too many meetings back in the coffee shop!!⁣⁣

Holden is 10.
He loves baseball and wrestling and superheroes. Duh.
And Holden has leukemia.

Even superheroes need their fellow superheroes to help them out from time to time, and this is one of those times. Holden needs a bone marrow transplant.

Some good news: Holden does have a potential donor who has stepped up. However, if this donor is not a match, he will need to find another potential donor.

Are you that hero?

Even if you don’t match Holden, you could possibly save another person’s life.
Right now, about 7500 Americans are actively searching for a bone marrow donor. To become Holden’s hero or a hero to someone like him, the first step is to visit bethematch.org to find out more information and to register online.
Registering for bone marrow donation is easy and only requires a cheek swab!

Please share Holden’s poster and the information on becoming a donor. Raising awareness of the need for bone marrow donations can literally help save lives.

The Amazing Holden Poster – produced by Carrie Casey of the Fianna Foundation, with special assistance from Grandma Deb Shannon.
Photographed by John Urban of Big Dreamers United.

Special thanks to Douglas Art and Framing for donating their framing services for a printed poster for Holden. (You should thank them by taking your stuff there to have it framed. They are very good at framing and NICE people).

As always, thank you for being awesome and out there doing good in the world.
